This Weekend I Did This
Friday night is the Nu Bang Clan/5 Magazine monthly party at the Prophouse, and Craig Loftis and Andre Hatchett spun. We all stayed in the upstairs DJ booth, because it's always a madhouse trying to get from the front door through 2 packed dancefloors, then up those damn stairs.
Saturday I am hurting but make it to a 4 hour dance rehearsal that fries my brain to nothing. Later that night was what is supposed to be the last party at 67th Street Lofts. (Noooo!!!) Ojay and Will (the promoters/owners of the house) are planning to move, so no more of my favorite House parties of all time. We had so much fun chilling in the back with Andre Hatchett, Dajae (she sang again!), Wayne Williams, Linda Redd and all sorts of crazy people that I love to death. At one point Andre and I got so excited we knocked over a big candle to the floor, so we each had wax scraping duties for the next half hour. I prayed that Ojay wouldn't have potato chips and dip out, because once I get near them I will eat the whole thing. I did. Almost.

Sunday me and my friends hit up Subterranean and then the Vic Lavender record release party at Smart Bar. I ran into my Indian cousins that I grew up with in the Philippines...and by the way, non-biased cultural fact: Indians will buy you AND your friends drinks all the time, guaranteed. They will always offer. (So moochers: befriend Indians!) That night my ex who now lives in New York finally got a chance to meet with us before heading back to his Brooklyn digs.

Valentines Day
Vday was extremely hectic, running around buying groceries and other junk, cleaning up the house, getting my man's hair cut and all night dance rehearsals. I get home at 11pm and my man cooks me a nice Puerto Rican dinner, and then it's off to the clubs. Or club. We hit up Ohm to hear Marques Wyatt, and he was absolutely fabulous as usual. I adore him. Lots of people were there, lots of DRUNK and HIGH-ON-I-DON'T-KNOW-WHAT people were there, and I swear I was about to get into it with some fake-titty bimbo who insisted on playing volleyball with a balloon and her Uncle Tom boyfriend. They were swinging and swishing away, knocking people out with their flailing arms and that damn balloon. Oh how I dreamed of just kicking her in the gut....
The latter part of the night turned very very sour, and I'll just leave it at that. Had to spend the whole next Thursday recovering physically and emotionally. Time for a change of scenery.

Old Love and Non-Existent Valentine's Day Plans

Buzzito and Lito acting the fool @ Boom Boom Room. Note my queenie friend in the stripes on the left... |
Wednesday I tape another installment of the 5 Magazine Radio Show, this time with guest DJ Black Terry
Saturday at Ohm I think this couple I know wanted me to come over and do the menage-thang-thang, but I ended up going to a loft party and wasting away there. I hate babysitting people and I sorely miss my brother Lito, because he always took care of me in my most precocious inebriata moments.
My ex (formerly known as "the love of my life" until I realized that maybe he wasn't... suffice it to say I was on and off with him for a good 7? years) is in town for work. He lives in New York now and I guess he is planning on opening up a business in Amsterdam. He was always one of those on-the-go people, constantly wheeling and dealing and doing all kinds of shit. Despite his sneaky ways with other people, he really loved me and treated me like a Queen, but at the time I just wasn't ready for that and didn't appreciate him like I should have. (For 2 years he made it a point to give me flowers everyday. Yes everyday. And if he didn't have money to buy them he would PICK them.) I'm completely over him, but will always love him dearly.

Yes, I Saw the Superbowl

the famous Miss Nicole at the loft party |
You all know my usual spots, so I won't bore you by telling you where I've been. I can't believe I've been writing this blog for over a year and a half now...wow. We celebrated Lito's birthday at Four last Thursday, and it was such a great time. I'm so happy that he has an awesome man to love and care for him, they are absolutely the most adorable couple ever. Saturday Dave Risqué had a big party for his production company featuring such acts like Gene Hunt, Andre Hatchett (my baby), Kelly Wills, Carla Prather and Craig Alexander. It was super crowded and a great vibe, but after sitting in the back couch for an hour I realized we still had 48.5 more clubs to hit that night. That cold was noooo joke, and I think Dave's party was the only one that really packed in a crowd. We went to Ohm, then to another loft party at the North Branch street spot.
Sunday we stay in and actually watch parts of the game. Now mind you except for certain sports like volleyball and gymnastics, I am COMPLETELY sports illiterate, and think of football as an extremely gay sport where men in hot pants hug each other very tight. It's like a frat boy rave where everyone is rolling on ex with helmets on.
Monday I hit up Green Dolphin, and the I couldn't believe how quiet it was from the cold. You could have done the hippie-on-acid-dance spinning around with your arms out to your sides and not hit a soul.
Tuesday early morning I interview David Morales from his vacation in Spain, and he was a very good interview subject. Of course the recorder barely taped anything he said, so now I have to go on the few remaining brain cells I have to remember all that was said.
Boring entry from a bored person.
