Emergency Vet

This weekend has been really traumatic. After being back from New York only 2 days, Luigi my dog, the love of my life, had multiple seizures that entailed him going to the hospital. He has had seizures for many years, but these ones were so bad and for so long that they left half his face immobile and acting completely lobotomized. So we had to transport him from one vet to a neurologist in Northbrook for emergency care over the weekend. They had to monitor him very carefully in case he lapsed into more seizures. Monday he had an MRI to make sure he didn't have a brain tumor. The "good news" is that he is epileptic, and needs to be on meds (which I'm not happy about since they leave your dog walking around in a comatose state.) They told me for a dog his age (10 years), that is nothing short of a miracle. I picked him up Tuesday evening and though he's not quite the same yet, he is okay and I thank God for it.
