Eating Fish
So me and my play bro Carlos head over to David Sabat's house down at Hyde Park. He has the cutest non-chihuahua looking dog called Barney. He runs by the stairs to greet you with his paw all out, then sits on your lap all night long.
Then we went to the Negro League Cafe to check out FLX and resident DJ Jamie 3:26. The place was hopping when we got there. One note of advice though: the bartender is blind. I mean, for real. I stood there (along with other more patient patrons) wildly waving my dollars to the brother, and he really wasn't seeing me.
Mad promoters promoting this week, what with the halloween events going down this weekend. We go to Tini Martini next.
I'm a vegetarian. Big time. I saw an ad for Popeye's chicken the other day and just HAD to have Popeye's right that minute. Off we go driving around the southside looking for the 24 hour Popeye's and had our (well my) heart broken by the shut down lights and closed sign. HOW OFTEN DOES A VEGETARIAN CRAVE CHICKEN?? Damn!! So after another another 30 more minutes of zipping around closed dives, we ended up at Lawrence Fisheries. After years of watching my friends chow this shit down post Cermak-loft parties, yours truly finally got to smear her grill with grease. I ate shrimp. (so no cruelty to animals was involved.) Dave kept going off about how Harold's Chicken was the real shit. Carlos kept eating like the bottomless pit that he is. I was having a ball that my food-disorder ass got to eat some food like this.

Wednesday Night @ The Dating Game
The Sox won, the sirens were going off, everybody was partying. Me and
my friends headed out to the Dating Game to hear Andre spin some good
old house tunes. I love that place. The only thing that irked me was
hearing the now famous line "I should be on the cover." I should put
the magazine out everyday - that way everyone who has anything to do with
House music can be on the cover.
Memo: It's not about that folks! Get your egos out the way. Please.
To end the festivities we went to Disco night at Berlin. I don't
remember much by then except I kept losing my credit cards and
IDs..something about trying to stick them in my shirt or my panties
since I had no pockets. And who likes to dance with a big 'ol purse? I
don't carry them skinny anorexic can-only-carry-lipstick-and-1-tampon
purses, I carry them big grandma bowling ball bags (so I can carry
around 5 Magazines of course.) :)
I'll shut up now. Have to go shopping for a Halloween costume.

CHR Taping
Spent the early part of the evening with Lloyd Dev and Izrail for the live taping of Chicagohouseradio.com. The highlight was when Walter "Get Down" Brown called in and schooled listeners on the history of WKKC's Friday House show. The apartment is mad cramped, but lots of heads still roll through and it's like one big party. Love you guys at Chr!
Men suck. Yes they do. Let me say this again: MEN SUCK! "Aw, not me baby,"..."Yes you too!!" You all need to learn some finesse and stop letting your canine instincts come out. And if the dog in you is just too hard to control, for crying out loud, muzzle it! At least when we women are bogus, we do it so elegantly and gracefully we don't make you feel wronged.
Am I going out tonight? Don't know. Have to mix music for an upcoming show and choreograph 2 dances. I can't concentrate with that game on. Men in tight pants swinging phallic symbols and balls rolling around. Did I say men suck?

Monday: Boom Boom Room
Last night we were at Boom Boom Room, of course. No one was out because it was raining and cold as hell. I decided to amuse myself by bottoms-upping my long islands, and the night became more and more interesting after that. Saw my "girl" Miss Micol, and she was doing her sexy jazz work-it-girl dance for me again. I was like "Work, bitch! With your new skinny ass, work!"
Have a bra look-see tomorrow. I don't think I'm going to go. Random
chest thoughts as I doze off.

Sundays at O Lounge
I'm so happy that O Lounge on Sundays is growing! This is the brainchild of Rick Martinez of Allay Soul, and Doug Brandt and Glenn Underground are the residents. It's always a good sign when you start seeing club regulars at your gig (i.e. the drummer twins, Barbara and Baramesi that cute photography/video couple).
Robert Williams (owner of the famous Warehouse), JMJ, Unified Records and Vic Lavender also came through. I was hanging out with my play brother Carlos and drinking this awesome red wine Doug turned me on to called "Menage a trois." $8 a glass. Doug loves it so much he went to Binny's Beverage Depot and saw that the *bottle* was being sold for $8! What? Maybe I should own a club.
That manager scares the living jesus out of me! So cold, so stiff (but that could be a good thing), and when he does crack a smile it looks like he just killed something.

Thursday Nights are Back!
My faith in Thursday nights are restored! I finally got to check out Tini Martini's new "Deep and Sexy" night with residents FLX, Phatman and Hector Lopez. The music was sickening... and I don't say that often!
A lot of industry heads were there: Ron Carroll, Gene Hunt, Lego, Lloyd Dev of Chicagohouseradio.com, David Sabat of Chicago Sound Source, and too many heads to mention. I was already sleepy-buzzed when I got there, but the $5 tini-whatever specials got me going again.
Good news folks... 5 Magazine will have its own show on
ChicagoHouseRadio.com! Yeah! One whole hour to dedicated to everything
House whether it be parties, issues, plugs, gossip, or just some way for
me to run my mouth. Just kidding. But seriously, I am very excited
about this :)
Hector closed the night with that vocal song that everybody loves... what
is it called? "I never ever want to let you gooooo baby... gonna wanna
make it up to youuu... don't you see that.... love what you say what you
say what you say to me babeeee." Something like that. When that song
plays, people go off!!! Well as that song played, a fight of some sort
broke out, and all I remember seeing was a tangle of bodies... and a
couple were kinda on the BIG side, you know what I'm saying? I took my
butt out of the line of fire real quick, what with last Monday I got my
ass thrown to the ground when a tornado of a fight flew by me. See,
even Househeads need to let some steam off.
