One of the original clubkids, Byrd Bardot is now in self-described "semi-retirement". It should give you some idea of just how amazing he is that even in a state of repose, he's still our choice as 2009's Door God of the Year.

Byrd has a well-deserved reputation as a superstar, stretching back to his days in New York (where he was one of the editors of the groundbreaking magazine Project X) to Chicago as what he calls "the ultimate door-whore diva for well over 15 years".
