First, let's establish what this is not. The i-Mix Reload isn't supposed to be used in place of CDJs or even a starter kit from Numark. It's not a typical set-up and frankly isn't supposed to be one. This is meant for bringing to a venue or a place (perhaps somewhere that a radio show or podcast is being recorded) without a proper set-up. The i-Mix is powered entirely by USB and simply plugs into a computer. The whole look and feel of this evokes a Fisher Price toy but it more or less does what it promises. The only issue is sticker shock: the concept is dead on and eminently useful, but this really should be available for half the price.
Where to Get It: In Chicago, Madman Audio has it for $269.90. Worldwide, check out djtechpro.com.
