+ The Candy Dealers: Disco Treats EP
:: Agave Records
I was rocking this one for weeks with nothing more than a truncated promo that cut off abruptly after the 1:00 mark. I liked it so much, in fact, that I went out and purchased a copy rather than waiting on the mail. "Crayons" is a fantastic track - I can't figure out what the vocal samples is saying but the bassline is so funky that I don't really care. "Time" is more on the soulful side - think of some of Frankie's more mid-tempo tracks and you're on your way. "Feelin'" is another great track. The way these guys rock a simple vocal sample and build a lush accompaniment that both keeps your interest and keeps you moving is amazing to me.
