If Roots NY - Louie Vega and Kevin Hedge's residency at New York City's Cielo nightclub - is anything like the sound on this record, I'm going to have to get there soon. When Louie calls these "dub mixes", make no mistake because that's just what he means. The mixes have an intricate but eminently danceable beat with vocals that take more from jazz improvisational stylings than typical House diva emotes. A couple of instrumental mixes are provided but I'd stick with the vocals on both the Dub Mix and Dub Mutes mixes.
