This has been a staple for the Deep House crowd this Summer and it's easy to tell why. Deetron's mix is far more up-tempo and electronic and will probably get more play in the clubs. Osunlade, for his part, has shrugged off nearly every label you've cared to throw at him in his long career and does so again here.

I've become hooked on Osunlade's WYRB (Yoruba Soul Radio) podcast over the last few months - it's truly a breath of fresh air. I can't tell you how many DJs have given lectures about "taking chances" and "playing everything" - and when they step up to the tables themselves, damn near everything turns out to be either Elements of Life, a disco/R&B edit or a track that Louie Vega could have theoretically made. Osunlade on the other hand thinks nothing of starting a set with Neil Young and blending it into something from Georgia Anne Muldrow - and by joining them together, tries to show you the relationship between them.

For his remix of "In My Life", Osunlade actually throws the whole preconception of "remixing" into question with beats that are stripped down to the bare essence. It's almost sub-audible at the start. The beats are there, and what Osunlade does with them fits this sweet vocal hand-to-glove. His mix builds in intensity - almost a mini-set in a single song. It's absolutely stunning.
