Look At You
/

Rome's underground House debonair Fabio Bacchini takes a step back from releasing material on his own label Mindtravel to give us the Days Gone By EP on the now Chicago-based label Look At You. This is a great deep'n'funky record utilizing jazzy disco loops that give it that Chicago-esque sound we all love. "Fusion Juice", my fav cut on the release, is a smooth juicer with some nice saxophone and synth solos whirling over nice'n'deep Latin Rhodes piano chord rhythms. Great tune for smoothing out the night.

"Refugees of Love" is a deep spoken-word track all about love featuring the vocal stylings of Rainy Payne. Quality beats and production on this tune which compliment the rest of the release very well. "Sound Blaster" is a solid synth bass-driven jam incorporating funky chord stab loops and synth leads over the top. Last but not least is my second favorite tune on the release, "What About Us". This tune has a really interesting gated loop groove molded from some upbeat disco loops. It's a great tune to keep the dance floor temperature rising throughout a mix. Fabio keeps the disco alive with this new release and reminds us that every road does lead to Rome.
