Alphabet Music

Ken of East Coast Boogiemen's label Alphabet Music has had a steady stream of great releases since it's establishment as a Chicago-based label upon Ken's arrival in the Midwest. This new release by Giano is another. The original Giano tune "Stella By Starlight" is my favorite - a straight up disco boot jam that Giano is known for and does so well. He incorporates all the elements of the original disco tune that has been featured in Definite Grooves' "Lucid Dreams" as well as the Mel Rosario "Coffee & Blunts" tune. Giano's take is a real treat for the dancefloor and will not disappoint.

Next up on the release is a nu-disco remix by Sleazy McQueen. This mix is a nice slowed-down Italo Disco-style groove, right around 120 BPM. It goes well with coffee and a lot of sugar. Last is the Dave Allison mix which is a really nice downtempo groove that sits around the 104 BPM range. This mix is a nice'n'lazy lounger incorporating all the nice grooves of the tune in a nice dreamy sequence. My pick is the Giano mix cuz it's quite dancefloor friendly, but all three mixes are solid, making this next release from Alphabet a nice one for the collection.
