+ Grand High Priest: "Long Time"
:: White Label
This is a take on the old gospel song "Long Time Comin'" that was a standard among both gospel artists and the early Motown singers - Otis Redding among others made this one famous and Grand High Priest Craig Loftis presents it here for the spiritual edification of a new generation. There's a glorious string arrangement as Loftis plays with the vocal, and it gradually builds into a full head-on dancefloor mover and shaker. It's a very different feel than "Mary Mary" - they may have the same initiative, but this one is more uptempo and driving. The Sean Smith remix breaks it down and adds some funk with his signature foot and a beautiful hook on the keys.
