Jellybean ft. Marlon D. :: "New York House"
Review by Chris Hafner | Published January 2008 | Review Archives
Jellybean Benitez's label released this remix of his classic with Marlon D., "New York House" by French DJ and producer Greg Gauthier. The Club Mix doesn't do much for me - it's a nice track but the reverb on the vocal is kind of played out at this point - I've heard it done better. The Dub Mix is a new take and has the fresh sound that makes this worth picking up - almost a toy piano sound, unique and cold to the bone. The two bongo mixes (Bongo Rock Mix and Bongo Rock Dub) add in a fantastic background vocal and take it deep. It's strictly for the afterhours set but is the good kind of chill.
