You wouldn't expect anything ordinary from Justin Long but this is just an awesome cut from out of left field - way out from left field. The title cut features a vocal by J-Dub, and... You know those dolls that can sometimes be very beautiful and scare the crap out of you at the same time? That's the vibe that Justin and J-Dub are playing with here. It sounds like something from the musical Oliver, performed by someone on the verge of a nervous breakdown. The stoners are gonna listen to this and go, "ooooo, trippy!" And to top it off, underneath it is this upbeat, playful little tune and a chorus (indecipherable to me at least - I think it's played backwards) that sounds like a small group of children. Re-reading this, I realize you might misunderstand what I'm saying so let me get candid: this is fucking awesome. Nobody is making music like this right now - not the indie kids and not the dance kids. "Stranger Than You" ups the tempo and gets this one rockin', while "Stranger in the Silence" drops the vocal for a pure, minimal vibe.
