+ Kimara Lovelace: "When Can Our Love Begin"
:: King Street
You like vocals? Get this. Kimara Lovelace is one of my favorites and delivers an inspired performance on this single from King Street. Richard Earnshaw's mix drops the vocals for an instrumental, with a simple organ chord repeating over and over. Timmy Regisford's Shelter Anthem naturally takes them right back and blows this one out. The vocals are more sultry than in the original and, as you might expect from anything containing the words "Shelter" or "Regisford", it's a throw-your-hands-in-the-air anthem. This is what inspiring House Music should be about.
