There's no one sheet with this one and I have to use some judgment that I'm sure will be wrong. Nevertheless there are some great things coming from this label. "Empty Clips" stands alone as one of those songs that just sounds like the perfect track to lead off with - the first song of the first set, right after the sound guys finish plugging everything in and being anal retentive about where the DJ puts his drink. It's remixed by one "Flash Atkins" - apparently they crossed the DNA from Eddie "Flashin'" Fowlkes and Juan Atkins and made some sort of MechaDetroitRemixer. Or, as his blog says (I used the Googles!), "a super hero who had his gravy days in the 80s saving the world. Unfortunately he's fallen on hard times and can be spotted stoned or drunk on borrowed money." Well, I was close. So back to the track: the chords here are what set this thing apart: it's that Larry Heard style, no plug-ins or filters, clean and simple and crisp and it hits me right in the heart.
