Marc Romboy vs. Tyree Cooper :: Lost EP
>>Ovum

So much stuff that advertises itself as "minimal" really means "incomplete". Leave it to Tyree and Marc to do it right. They bring the sound home to the early Chicago jack track days or some of the darker moods of Detroit on this three mix EP. Tyree's spoken vocal has lost none of its authority, and the music forms an understated but constantly shifting canvas in the way that I don't think too many have done better. The Dub Mix has that Atari 2600 vibe to it - that's all I can say, because if you're a fan of it you'll like it, and if you don't, you won't. The Mazi and Duriez Remix is something that can be mixed in just about any House set, complete with a more traditional 4/4 kick, retro claps and a melody which swings between a faux-303 and the classic reverb of the most strung out reggae tracks. I love this stuff; any fan of Detroit techno or Chicago jack should as well.
