Lost My Dog
/

Lost My Dog has become one of my favorite labels as of late, as everything I have been hearing from over there has been landing in my bag. So big ups to Pete Dafeet for keeping the storm brewing with another hurricane release.

Michelle Owen's Swing It EP adds to the Swing House revival with the lead track "Dee & Deaf". This is a solid number with thick chunky beats and a really cool quirky bassline amidst jazzy swing stabs'n'licks. The title track "Swing It" is a mellow filter jazz tune riding on minimal beats and low filter bass. It is a nice compliment to the chunkiness of "Dee & Deaf". Progressing on with the minimal beats, "Sometimes" is a nice bass groove with minimal vocal stabs and a smooth ride. My favorite part of the release are the two remixes of "Dee & Deaf", one by Freerange all-star Dave Pezzner and the other by Murat Kilic. Both of these remixes are right on point. Pezzner's mix is a great dance floor hypnotizer. There's a slightly creeping groove that just keeps the movement fluid throughout the entire mix. Murat Kilic's mix is the perfect funky jackin' dance floor mix that rounds out the mix. This is my first experience with Murat's productions, but you can tell he works from great experience as his mix is my favorite on the release. It's got dancefloor written all over it, and I love rockin tunes that move the masses.
