This column is quickly becoming a Phil Asher lovefest, but the man simply releases so much must-have music that passing it up would be a tragedy of omission. "Runnin'" was featured on a mix contributed by Phlash back in September on 5chicago.com - at first I thought it was a remix of an unknown Brand New Heavies track. Vocalist Shea Soul actually has a more attractive voice than N'Dea Davenport, if that's even conceivable, with a cute, high-pitched lilt that's perfect for a room, big or small.
And in typical Phlash style, "Exaltation (Deeper Mix)" is an instrumental with a exalting electric violin riff. Two totally different sides of one spectacular producer.
