Lost My Dog

/

Expanding his growing discography, Peckos pops in again with a funky and techy release with a couple of remixes thrown in for good measure. "Truffles" is an interesting number, lots of cut up samples make this sound like a warm, subdued and deep Todd Edwards track. "Silver Sliming" blows up the bass a bit and takes the track "out to the boomdocks" (yes I just made that phrase up). The cut up samples work well here, but this cut has a bit of a deeper vibe to it. The Kirby remix takes a late night approach on the original, with lots of laid back synths playing with each other, and some serious echo action on the vocals. "Why Should I Cry" has a rolling dark key sample that has a swing feeling to it, but keeps it deep, while the Vernon and DaCosta mix brings the funky side out and adds a distinct hint of jackin sound to it. This release is very much at home on Lost My Dog, so if you're a fan of the label you'll be sure to nab one or two tracks on this EP at the very least. [ - D-VO / December 2010 - ]
