Reel People feat. Darien :: "Alibi"
Review by Sean Smith | Published February 2008 | Review Archives
When I first heard this song I instantly feel in love with the original version. The sound is in a breakbeat soulful style. After hearing the original I wondered how Rasmus Faber could outdo this. I must say that he did it right and then some. Mr. Faber's mix also uses a breakbeat feel, but the difference as opposed to the original is that he uses the breakbeat as a build up before going into a straight 4X4 house beat. Essential you get the best of both worlds in the Rasmus Faber mix. The music, the singing and the groove is top notch all the way. When I debuted this at our pre-NYE party at Betty's for the first set it had the dancers moving. When I played this for the second set the whole place was rocking. Rarely do you get a song that can work a crowd like this on the first day it is played. Call this house, call this breakbeat, call this nu jazz - I call this real music.
