I can't say I was really looking forward to going through this one. This was such a monster hit that I have no desire to hear it again for a long time, especially considering that there are some DJs that rock it as their "secret weapon" to this very day (if you're outside of Chicago, that probably sounds strange. If you're inside Chicago, you're probably rolling your eyes about now.) There's absolutely nothing wrong with the remixes here - David Penn and Michel Cleis do great, even brilliant work in taking a song that we all know note-for-note and beat-by-beat and doing something inventive with it. No energy used for a positive purpose is misplaced, but I just don't think the world was really crying out for a reason to give "Love + Happiness" yet another spin. If you're a big fan of the original mixes, if you fell in love to it, made love to it, had your heart broken to it, I don't think you're going to reach for a new remix to relive those moments.
