Five mixes in all, to soothe even the pickiest listener. First up is Andy Compton's Peng Mix, setting the tone of this project - deep & soulful in every aspect. Listening to the spoken word vocalist, you get the feeling they recorded this mix while on said hot continent. A raspy saxophone ices the cake in the Magic Soul Spoken Word mix, with a bit more focus on the lyricist, yet keeping its soulful House groove intact. The Rurals Dub also features the spoken word poet, but brings that deep, deep, NYC-flavored sound to Africa (or is it the other way around?) Bringing up the rear are two more Rurals mixes: Rurals Crazy Jam and Rurals Dub Instrumental. The latter speaks for itself, while the Crazy Jam mix spotlights the musicians in their fierce element!
