Guesthouse

Adelaide's boy wonder Sonny Fodera is back on track with another killer vinyl EP on Guesthouse Records to follow up his smash release the Sonny Side Up EP which was released almost a year ago. The title track "Disco Biscuits" is a peak time disco inferno of a banger. This cut is huge and can't be ignored when played to a sweaty dance floor. "Driving" is a fast-paced Swing House jam with a nice drum breakdown, spastic horns, and a driving vocal. A great cut for the Swing House enthusiast. On the flip is "Hold On" which brings out Sonny's dark side with a bit of nasty synth bass underneath some chopped vocals playing amongst some tough beats. This is a good crossover track between funky and Electro House sounds. Last but not least is a nice funky bassline cut á la Sonny's slap bass signature styling called "Let It Roll". This tune is a great party picker-upper with is smooth chords, funk bass, and hip hop rockin' vocal samples. A great way to end a very well-rounded EP. There is something on this record for everyone which is a great way to put together a solid EP these days. Kudos to Guesthouse for keeping true to vinyl and releasing another top notch quality release.
