I own one Soydan track and I tend to forget how much I enjoy spinning it. Soydan's tracks from what I've heard are full of loopy goodness that are really fun to play with, mix in and mix out of. You've got a triple dose of the 360 degree madness here with this EP.
Ladies and gentlemen! This! Is a Jack Shizzle! What is that? Pretty much horns and strings going round and round and round. The horns will drop in a little more in certain spots. "Jack Shizzle" is probably the "softest" of the 3 tracks. Then it gets nastier.
I'm not a producer (yet). So the intricacies of how certain types of sounds are constructed and edited into something ridiculous are beyond my capacity. "Katana" is one of the coolest things I've ever heard and I have no doubt it will end up on my "Year In Review" lists. The saxophone and thumping bass are your strongholds while you've got other super choppy samples buzzing in both ears like the Mothman was telling you a secret. There's a funky but very mechanical type of jam to this track. I just say it's sick and unrelenting.
Soydan rounds off the package with "Jump In" that utilizes the Black Rob sample to school you on what's WHOA. This one I'd put in my crate for rave or rave club-type gigs. I can't imagine the kiddies not digging this one. All of these are energy tracks and will work in a variety of environments.
