+ Terry Hunter pres. TnT - "Can't Control Me"
:: T's Box Records
This is a whole new sound for Terry Hunter - a kind of undiscovered genre that I know I've never heard before. For the vocals, think of '80s pop and new wave - maybe a little Sheila E. Add another layer behind it - the funky keyboards of Morris Day and The Time. You might be thinking retro here, but you're wrong, because underlying it is just the Housiest of House beats I've ever heard. You really won't get the full effect until you let the music sink in, but I'm telling you - this is uncharted territory.

In anyone else's hands, this might be just a studio experiment, but Terry Hunter crafts this into a grinding, balls-to-the-wall tune. I'm always wrong when I make these predictions, but this track is so unique and has so much to love about it that it really could cross over way beyond House Music, R+B, Urban or any other charted community. Terry Hunter deserves props for more than taking a chance on a unique track, but for having written a great track.
