The Face ft. Nicki Richards :: "Keep It Coming"
Review by Terry Matthew | Published January 2007 | Review Archives
Under his "The Face" moniker, David Morales hits it hard with this high energy overload of slammin' House music. "Keep it Coming" has a big-room, booming sound but I can't think of a crowd in the scene that wouldn't love this - gay, straight, black, Latin, whatever. There's a really faint conga rhythm to it but it never breaks too far away from that huge audio eruption that I always associate with New York City. I was sad to miss my first opportunity to see David Morales spin at the House Music Festival this summer, but if he picks music as well as he makes it, I can understand why he's carved out such a tremendous reputation. Nicki Richards for her part has a powerful voice and uses it to remarkable effect in the "Music is my life" refrain as well as a little bit of scat. Take this review and pin it up on the wall somewhere as this is definitely my New Years' pick to break.
