I really wanted to like this, but I'm afraid I can't give you any compelling reason to buy this one. A friend of mine who heard this promo said, "I thought it was an old '80s bootleg" - and that's just what it sounds like to me. I don't need a vocal to get my rocks off, but a lot of this is stuck in that era - almost like one set out to recreate "Time 2 Jack", "Jack Your Body", early Derrick May and Juan Atkins projects and such. The problem is that those tracks were created in a certain place and a certain time, and without that context it's impossible to evaluate and appreciate them today. A listener has no such connection to the tracks here, but if you're a fan of clap drums and simple 303 lines, this might be up your alley.
