Veronique :: "Use Me"
Review by Chain | Published September 2007 | Review Archives
It's tough to review just a radio edit, especially as the remixes of this, I've been told, are sick. Nevertheless, you can get a good enough idea of this self-produced single by singer Veronique. This is basically a cry of surrender to the Good Lord Above. There's a heavy gospel influence without resorting to the standby gospel choir background - it's a very personal track, about one individual, and the solitary vocal really makes it work on that level. Deep strings in tandem with a Rhodes provide the accompaniment. Recommended.
