Alan King is one of the original House Music DJs and, as a member of the Chosen Few, has been spinning since the late 1970s. He's also been featured in a number of local and national media as one of Present Barack Obama's earliest supporters, friends and sometime basketball teammate (LA Times, Seattle Times, Alan as one of Obama's "aides de hoop" in Sports Illustrated, AP photo of Alan and Obama in Philadelphia, etc.)

This mix is a special Tribute to Frankie Knuckles and simply blew us away when we first heard it.

You can hear Alan at selected events throughout the Chicago area and, of course, the Chosen Few Picnic next summer. You can reach him directly at myspace.com/djalanking.

And for more mixes, radio shows, podcasts from the greatest House Music DJs on the planet, check out past episodes of New Mix Monday, the 5 Magazine Radio Show and everything in one place at our audio archives page.
