Demarkus Lewis (myspace, facebook, discogs, traxsource) is the founder of Grin Music. He's released more than 100 singles and remixes since the late 1990s, ranging in sound from soulful deep stuff to the techy side of House.

Demarkus signed his first record deal with Swerve Records in 2000. Since then, his original productions and remixes have appeared on End Recordings, Low Down, Siesta, Large Music, Robsoul, Conya and dozens of other labels. Grin Music was founded in 2005 and has evolved from strictly Deep House to a blend of Tech House (or Housey Tech). Grin's latest release is a Man-versus-Nym battle, Leech vs. Demarkus Lewis' Maze EP (reviewed by yours truly here). His latest release is the awesomely named Tussy Pickler EP with Maxime Cescau out this month on Artizan.

As a DJ for more than 18 years and running, Demarkus has performed at venues such as Club Rayo (Argentina), Metro Bass (Amsterdam), Silo (Belgium), Propaganda (Moscow), Tresor (Berlin) and was a frequent guest at Zentra here in Chicago.
