Welcome back to 5 Magazine's New Mix Monday, our weekly DJ mix series featuring the greatest House Music DJs on the planet.

For our 5 Year Anniversary Issue, we decided to pay tribute this month to pay tribute to four of the many Chicago DJs who are gettin' down and dirty in this city - working in the trenches, so to speak - and playing a multitude of venues, in every part of the city, in front of different crowds to keep House Music alive.

This week, we're featuring Jesse de la Pena (facebook, facebook group, myspace). Jesse is one of Chicago's most versatile DJs. His Liquid Soul project was nominated for a 2000 Grammy Award for Best Contemporary Jazz Album, and as a DJ he plays more gigs a month than almost anyone in the city (you can keep tabs here).
