Olivier Desmet (website, discography, label) is the founder of Amenti Music - a label anyone's shortlist as one of the top recording imprints releasing quality House Music today. Born in Brussels, he actually began his career in the industry in Chicago as A&R and promotions manager for the late and lamented Afterhours Music, which released some of the best Chicago cuts in the late 1990s/early 2000s. He began producing his own music under the guidance of Mazi (aka Audio Soul Project, who is also featured in our mix series this month) before moving on to manage the renowned Moulton Studios in San Francisco in 2002.

Olivier has released works on labels including Aroma, Tango, Siesta, Deepfunk and OM (the San Francisco Sessions Vol 6 with Inland Knights), and remixes of artists such as Mood II Swing, Miles Maeda, Alexander East, and Demarkus Lewis. Among the many artists he's collaborated with are Fred Everything, Ken ECB, Joshua Marquez of Uneaq and Chuck Diesel. In just over five years, Amenti has earned a sterling reputation based on releases by JT Donaldson, Inland Knights, Swirl Peepz, East Coast Boogiemen and Olivier himself. Amenti's latest release is the remixes set of Olivier's "Just Like Heaven", available on vinyl from juno and digitally at traxsource.com.
