The 5 Magazine Residents Series is our new House Music mix series (well... we're up to Volume 15 now, so it's not so much new!), featuring new mixes from the 5 Magazine staff every Friday, for streaming or downloading here and via iTunes.

This week we're featuring a new mix from Chicago's own Hakim Murphy. Hakim is a DJ/producer/librarian from the Chicagoland area that makes House Music. He runs two record labels: Machining Dreams and Synapsis Records with Inbum Cho. Hakim has previously contributed a selection to our New Mix Monday series, which you can listen to here.

This mix is called "Kinetic Motion" from 2002; Hakim describes it as "my version of some jacking deep house". It clocks in at nearly two hours; The full playlist is below (with timecodes).
