Farley Jackmaster Funk
aka Farley, Farley Keith

+ Bio: From the Southside of Chicago, Farley Jackmaster Funk was born to DJ. At the age of 21, he obtained a residency on Chicago's WBMX-FM as part of the Hot Mix 5, played at dozens of clubs around the city as well as holding his own residency at what was then the largest club in the Midwest, The Playground. His single "Love Can't Turn Around" (with vocals by Daryl Pandy) reached #1 in the UK. In 1986, he founded the eponymous House Records in Chicago as an outlet for his own work; after nearly 13 years, he announced to 5 Magazine in March 2008 that he was reactivating the label.

After a foray into Hip-Hop, Farley returned to House in the early 1990s, working with the "second wave" of Chicago House Music producers and DJs while also earning a living on the international DJ circuit overseas. At around the same time, he became a born-again Christian and one of the first dance music DJs to bring House Music's groove to the mainstream Gospel industry.
