The word "legend" gets thrown around a lot in this scene, but there's no denying that however you define it, Chip E. fits the bill.
The youngest of the original generation of House Music producers, Chip E. has become a mythical figure for some, having produced some of the early classic jack tracks (and probably having invented the term, or passed it into widespread usage) in addition to possibly coining the term "House Music" itself while he was working at one of the original record shops to stock the new sounds, Importes. Both were heard on vinyl for the first time on his Jack Trax EP which has become a sort of Holy Grail for record collectors.
In this video, he talks about those days as well as getting Frankie Knuckles and Ron Hardy in the studio for the first time. In addition, Chip E. has provided us with not one but two new tracks for your enjoyment!
